About the event

****sold out***

With a growing interest in local food, farming and conservation we thought our community may appreciate us stoking the campfires, raising the festoon lighting and gathering in the barn for an evening’s film, a hearty Q&A and some tasty food.

Our very first screening will be Wilding, based on the Isabella Tree’s best selling book.

“Wilding tells the story of a young couple that bets on nature for the future of their failing, four-hundred-year-old estate. The young couple battles entrenched tradition, and dares to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature. Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe.”

This will be followed by a ‘Rewilding and Regenerative Agriculture’ themed Q&A panel, featuring three special guests, Amelia Greenway, Rachel Phillips and Chris Jones.

To keep us warm and nourished we’ll be rustling up some slow-cooked organic beef stew, local Shillingford Vegan Soup and some Om Bakery sourdough rolls. There will also be a selection of Exploding Bakery cakes, Avocet beers, local ciders, teas and coffees.

And to help kick the evening off, you’ll receive a complimentary Find and Foster sparkling cider (or if preferred, a West Town Farm apple juice) upon your arrival. (* Please note food isn't included in ticket price, however card/cash is accepted in cafe)

As a side note, myself and the farm team previewed Wilding. Despite feeling a little unsure that we or others could relate to an aristocratic family living in a castle, surrounded by 3500 acres, we were amazed to see a full house, a buzz of chatter and many smiles once the credits rolled.

Speaking personally, this film made me feel good; hopeful and motivated, which I quickly realised was just the boost I needed.

The details:

Saturday September 14th.
